Three Roles. Three Perspectives. Meet Kim Hough.
Great design is only part of what it takes to move a project from an idea to completion. Behind every successful project are people keeping details organized, communication moving, and teams aligned along the way.
At HFR, architecture is one part of that larger integrated process. It is where client goals, function, site conditions, technical requirements, and design intent begin to come together into a physical space.
That is the perspective Kim Hough brings to the team as an Architectural Designer II.
Kim joined HFR in April and has already experienced something central to the way our architectural teams work: ideas and experience are meant to be shared.
“The colleagues I have had the opportunity to work with so far have created a team environment that is collaborative, respectful, and supportive. I appreciate that everyone values one another’s ideas and experiences, which creates an environment conducive to both teamwork and growth. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the team while learning from others.”
For Kim, collaboration also means knowing when her own experience can help move a design forward and when another team member’s expertise can strengthen the solution.
“I strive to be a collaborative and dependable team member, supporting projects wherever my skills and knowledge can add value. I am also eager to learn from my colleagues and leverage their expertise when needed. By working collaboratively and maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy, I aim to help teams complete projects efficiently and deliver results in a timely manner.”
That architectural perspective is important to HFR’s clients. Thoughtful design is about more than how a building looks. It is about understanding how a space needs to function, how people will use it, and how the design can support the client’s goals from concept through completion.
One more perspective that may be a little less obvious about Kim: She’s a big fan of rock and heavy metal music, attending 17 concerts in 2025 including a four-day music festival!
We’re excited to have Kim’s architectural experience, perspective, and energy on the HFR team.
Welcome to HFR, Kim.
